Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox won a scholarship award to attend London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. The money she earned came from a student allowance and took on part-time employment to augment her funds. In the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance in comparison to her fellow students and was contemplating a different path she might follow. Lennox was initially musician with the group Dragons Playground. But she quit prior to the group's appearance to I.T.V.s talent contest New Faces. She was the vocalist in The Tourists a British pop band from 1977 to 1980. In this band, she met Dave Stewart who would later create Eurythmics. Lennox started work with Diva in 1992. This was her debut album as a solo artist. The album was an enormous success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth album as a solo artist was released in October of 2014. The C.D. Lennox has chosen her favorite jazz, blues and soul songs. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox published Lepidoptera an album of four piano pieces that she improvised. The E.P. The E.P. is her debut self-produced album as well as a follow-up to the art installation she designed at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You Go... Annie Lennox was born in 1954 on the 25th of December. She is an activist, philanthropist as well as a performer. The Tourists were a new-wave group who had some recognition in the 1970s. In the following years, Lennox was joined by the band with fellow singer-songwriter Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox launched her solo career with her first album Diva in 1992.
