Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen was an athlete of natural talent and enjoyed playing tough athletic games. Her ability to perform perfectly complemented her passion for sport. It was evident by her receiving nearly every Feis prize for drama and musical performances that her country could offer. In the year 14 she was admitted to the famous Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of performing in classical theatre and operatic singing. Charles Laughton became captivated with Maureen's stunningly beautiful eyes after watching a screen-test. Laughton changed her name to Maureen FitzSimons, from Maureen FitzSimons, to "Maureen O'Hara" it was a diminutive version of her first name. The name change happened just before Laughton decided to use her for Jamaica Inn. With a contract signed to Laughton her next movie was scheduled to be shot at home in America (The Hunchback and Notre Dame (1939)) in the studio of RKO Pictures. The film's epic nature became a massive success and Maureen's contract was eventually transferred off Laughton by RKO. Maureen Laughton had been featured in two major motion films before she reached 19.
