Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actor, model and entrepreneur. Her most well-known role was in the role of Emily Fields from the Freeform TV series Pretty Little Liars. After having a great time with modeling and dance, she decided to try her hand at acting, and began acting classes in Toronto. After securing a few commercials and guest roles in television seriesMitchell received her biggest break when she was cast in the role of Emily Fields in Pretty Little Liars. Critics and fans both applauded her talents. The acclaimed actress then made a name for herself through screenplays such as DreamlandMother's Dayand The belonging of Hannah Grace. Her popularity increased after starring in the psychological series You. She is the author of an adult novel called Bliss, together with Michaela Blaney. Shay Mitchell was raised in Ontario with her parents Mark Mitchell & Precious Gonzalez. She was born 10th April, 1987. Shay Mitchell is Filipina heritage, and her father is of Scottish/Irish roots. Mitchell is also the cousin of Lea Salonga - a famous actor and musical theatre performer. As a child, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary after which she transferred to West Vancouver Secondary School. As she grew older Mitchell been employed by various modeling firms all over the world. She travelled through Barcelona, Bangkok, and Hong Kong, ultimately returning home in Toronto and pursuing a degree in acting.
