Katja Herbers is child of the violinist Vera Beths and oboist Werner Herbers. In her early years She traveled with her mother in America for a tour with the chamber ensemble L'Archibudelli. Her mother was remarried to cellist Anner Bylsma while her father got married to costume designer Leonie the Polak who introduced her theater.
